The announcement from the club says: “Gary, 33, will be assisted by former Valley manager Martin Sockett who re-joins the club as Head Coach.

Moran has been in temporary charge since September 19, following James Jepson’s resignation and will now take over full time for his first home game on Saturday against Northwich Victoria.

Gary is a vastly experienced right back who has made over 200 appearances for Rugby in all competitions in two spells from 2002 to 2005 and 2010 to 2012 and has also played the last two games for Rugby against Lincoln and Spalding.

He has had a spell in management in recent years as the assistant manager with Stratford Town.

Sockett rejoins the club for his fourth spell having been manager between 1998 and 2001 and again in the 2010/11 season when he led Valley to a 6th place finish in the Southern League Division One Central. He also had a spell as assistant under Stringer from 2011 to 2012.

Most recently Martin has been the manager of Leicester Nirvana.”
