Kevin Thornton scores both for Valley in 2-2 draw

Rugby Town drew 2-2 at Newcastle Town on Saturday in their NPL South Division league game.

Kevin Thornton twice levelled for Rugby with 42nd and 77th minute goals, after their hosts had gone ahead in the 35th and 56th minutes.

Newcastle were reduced to ten men for the final half hour, but Rugby couldn’t capitalise further to bring home the three points.

They are now 15th out of the 22 teams in the table and host 21st-placed Loughborough Dynamo this weekend.
