Ashford on Saturday, Beaconsfield on Monday
Rugby Town face two league fixtures in three days, with Ashford the visitors to Butlin Road on Saturday ahead of a trip to Beaconsfield on Monday evening.
Town moved up into fourth place in the Calor League Central Division after their 4-1 win at Barton last weekend, before another handsome home victory against Banbury saw them into the second round of the Red Insure Cup.
Saturday’s opponents Ashford have struggled so far this season, and are just one place off bottom spot, so Valley will be hoping to carry on from where they left off against the Middlesex side last time out when they completed a 4-0/4-1 double over them.
Beaconsfield currently sit just outside a play-off zone they have successfully reached in the last two campaigns – most recently losing to Town in the semi-final stage at the end of April thanks to a solitary extra-time strike by Sam Youngs.
Despite the good run of form, Rugby manager Dave Stringer continues to strengthen his hand both on and off the pitch.
Stringer has added the experienced Ady Fuller to his management team, recruiting the ex-Daventry, Banbury and Bedworth boss as his assistant.
Following the confirmation of the signing of striker Mitchell Piggon last week, Stringer is also looking to add wide man Josh O’Grady to his squad ahead of the weekend. The 24 year-old O’Grady played under Fuller at all three fore-mentioned clubs, and was also part of the Stratford team that won promotion into the Southern League at the end of last season.
