Callum Powell put Valley ahead after 18 minutes and Danny Clifton made it 2-0 after the break.

The visitors came back in the 76th, but David Kolodynski’s 85th minute goal seemed to have settled things. In an exciting finish Lincoln pulled another one back right at the end, but Rugby celebrated an excellent win under new manager Dale Belford.

Rugby Town travel to Carlton Town for an NPL South division league game on Wednesday evening (30th).
