A special visitor in last Saturday’s Butlin Road crowd was Hedley Harris, with the one-time local resident making the long trip down from his Carlisle home to celebrate his 78th birthday with members of his family.

More commonly known as Eddie, he has always continued to follow the Valley’s progress from afar despite having lived away from the Borough for nearly five decades now and as a birthday gift from his family he travelled down from Cumbria to watch the 2-1 defeat.

Now a season ticket holder at League Two Carlisle United, Eddie was presented with a Rugby Town scarf ahead of the game, and despite the result enjoyed his afternoon back at his hometown club.
