Impressive medal haul from open

Rugby’s younger swimmers led the way at the recent open meet at Coventry Sports Centre, picking up an impressive haul of medals.
n In the 9 year old age group, Eve Street took second place in the 50m breaststroke as did Adam Wanless in the 200m freestyle. Georgia Godding added a bronze in the 50m freestyle.
n The 10 year olds had a gold medal winner in Luke Harris, who triumphed in the 100m breaststroke in 1:49.50. Lucy House did her bit for the girls with a third place in the 200m IM.
n In the 11 years age group, Eve Benison collected a full set of medals with a first place in the 200m freestyle in a time of 2:53.65, second spot in the 200m breaststroke, and third place in the 50m breaststroke. Rhys James repeated that feat with a win in the 100m freestyle (1:17.15), a silver medal in the 200m IM, and third place in the 50m butterfly. Ellen Harrington was also a winner, in the 100m breaststroke (1:41.87), while William Dunderdale picked up a silver in the 100m breaststroke and a bronze in the 200m freestyle.
n Flying the flag for the older swimmers, David Hepworth (15) collected two medals: a gold in the 100m butterfly (1:13.23) and second place in the 50m backstroke.
n There were great performances from all the swimmers including those who didn’t make the podium: Ceri House, Regan Walker, Isobel Dunderdale, Cerys Allen, Eloise Harris, Ellen Armeson, Molly Pope, Lucy Channing, Ellie Muston, Matthew Seaton and Matthew Langham,
