Newbs from Spring Street AC and the Anglian Water region
SIXTEEN anglers from Spring Street AC fished the Plough and Harrow Lakes at Peatling Pools.
The water was very clear and ice was still on some areas of the lakes. Most anglers caught fish but had to wait until the last two hours.
In first spot was Carl Hully on the Plough Lake with 24lb 6oz, a nice catch of F1s, carp and silvers on bread punch and maggot.
Second was Gill Corns on the Harrow Lake with 21lb 13oz, all F1s and a few carp on pellet and maggot.
Third was Mick Chambers on the Harrow Lake with 14lb 10oz, a mix of F1s, carp and silvers.
Fourth was Phil Porter on the Plough Lake with 13lb, again a similar mix of carp and silvers.
Next match will be Sunday, December 23 at Stockton Reservoir.

I’ve had the final press release of the year from Sally and the fisheries team at Anglian Water, which says all their fisheries are fishing well.
The latest news from Rutland Water is of several bag limits and good sized fish.
There are many fish between 3 and 5lb. Most anglers at Rutland are using lures on various weight sinking lines. However, there are still anglers catching on floating lines with lure/nymph combinations. Fish are feeding hard on shrimp/daphnia with one or two feeding on fry.
The best areas at Rutland Water have been the fishing lodge harbour wall, Normanton, Old Disabled Bay, Whitwell, Yellowstone, Barn Hill, Carrot Creek, the Finches to Armley Wood.
The last day of the trout fishing season at all of our fisheries is December 31.
