Results from Dog Lane, Napton
Open Match Sunday, January 27
This week the weather changed things around at Dog Lane Fisheries’ Willow Lake. Two weeks of ice and snow went overnight and the melting snow from surrounding fields added to the surge of water raging through the lake, so much so that it was unlikely that the water that was in the lake Saturday was the same on Sunday. Nevertheless, fifteen hardy souls decided to give it a go and two times winner Paul Knapman reckoned he would give it the goo again. Alas this time ‘Knappers’ found that Willow Lake is a fickle Mistress and left him with no where to goo but home at the end of the match.
The winner this week was Phil Porter from Rugby who managed to winkle out 8lb 4oz 4dr of small carp from peg 34 mostly caught on the feeder. Second place went to Pete Palmer of Dog Lane Fishery who drew peg 14 again but this time didn’t blank. Instead he put four Billy Perch on the scales for 6lb 15oz 4dr all caught on whole worm. Third best weight was recorded by Vince Atkinson of Daventry AC from peg 35, who unfortunately lost a possible match winner on his first cast of the day, despite this he went on to weigh in 4lb 5oz 12dr of mixed silvers.
The payouts this week went to Top Two and 3 sections by default. Those picking up a payout were;
1st Phil Porter peg 34 8lb 4oz 4dr (small Carp)
2nd Pete Palmer peg 14 6lb 15oz 4dr (Perch)
