Rugby & Northampton AC took their fifth victory in the Senior Men’s race in the latest round of the East Midlands Grand Prix Series with Daniel Mould leading them home again in the Weedon 10k.

Already crowned champions, the club made it a perfect score and Mould too was the top man for the fifth successive race when he once again finished in 7th place with a time of 35 mins 43 secs.

The tough route includes a notorious climb through Everdon Stubbs and chasing Mould all the way was Stephen Marks in 8th spot just 16 secs behind.

Jonathan Burke was 25th in 37.46 and completing the team was M40 veteran Mike Andrews in 32nd position on 38.25, which gave him 2nd in the age group.

Next man across the line for R&N was Alistair McDonnell on 38.48 in 41st place and he was followed by a trio of Veterans, which finished third in the team race.

In his comeback from a calf injury Vince Carroll finished 7th in the M45 section with 39.24 and four seconds later Terry Egan crossed the line to finish as the 6th M50 with Dave O’Leary closing out the squad on 41.24 (M45 12th).

Vicky Nealon was 10th in the overall Ladies’ race when she was timed at 43.28.

Six more athletes took part in the Mens race with Pete Thomas recording 42.12 (M50 8th), Alan Mould finishing 2nd in the M55 category with 42.30, Laurence Scott (M50 10th in 43.18), Mick Howell (M50 16th in 47.23), Neil Martin ( M55 11th in 48.57 ) and Paul Baxter (M40 36th in 56.47).
