5k run on Sunday, May 21
Ready Steady Fun Run
Rugby’s 9th Annual Ready Steady Fun Run takes place on Sunday, May 21 at 10am.
Supporting local charities, it is open to runners of all abilities, male and female, from the age of eight years.
This popular 5k event was first staged in 2009 as the target event for the inaugural Beginners’ Ladies’ Running Group.
The Ladies’ Running Group and the Fun Run continue to grow in popularity and organisers are hoping for another record year for the run.
This year’s beginners (both ladies and men) are currently training hard for, what will be for most of them, their first ever 5k run and they’d like to invite plenty more to join in the fun too.
Rugby Food Bank will be holding a collection on the day so spectators can bring along a donation or enter the raffle?
The 5k is a timed one lap course starting and finishing at the Rugby’s athletics track, next to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre. All finishers will receive a medal and post-run goodies.
Main sponsor Smart Therapy will be on hand for a post-race massage and advice on how to relieve aching muscles. Refreshments will be available on site.
There will also be Under 8s races on the track after the main run.
All money raised will be split equally between The Hoskyn Centre and Rugby and Northampton Athletic Club.
Early bird entry is available until April 21 at £10, rising to £12 after. On the day entries will be accepted at £15. Children ages 8 to 16 can enter for £5 in advance or £6 on the day.
Entry details can be found at www.randnac.org. For discounted family entry and more information please email: email@example.com
