A touch of royalty at Windsor!

Warwickshire Vice Presidents Bowls Association

v The Royal Household

at Frogmore, Home Park, Windsor Castle

On the hottest day of the year the VPs travelled to Windsor to play The Royal Household. Alan Bister (VPs Treasurer) was Captain for the day and was delighted his team won by 29 shots. After a lovely drive through part of the Park they were welcomed by their hosts and a good afternoon commenced.

At ten ends VPs were in front by seven shots but, after a refreshing cup of tea, they gradually took over and went ahead. The highest winning rink comprised Martyn Evans, Brian Hunt, Ted Amos and Mike Gilks.

It was VPs deputy chairman Brian Hunt’s 70th birthday and he said he could not have celebrated the day in better company, lovely surroundings and a good win. This summed up the whole day.
