BRIDGE: East/West, Mawby and Halliday prove the best!

Tuesday evening’s session saw Alan Webb with Denis Angove taking first place with 62.64% followed by Roger Ward and David Heron, with Graham Clarke and Richard Holland tying for third place with Sue Osborne and Jane Carrington.

On Wednesday at the Ex-Service Men’s Club Pat and Tony Wren tied with Clare Dixon and Clive Tull for first place with Jane and David Reed third.

On Thursday evening Liz Edwards and Stuart Warne achieved the highest score of the week with 66.23%. Sue Osborne and Wendy Pattinson squeaked into second place ahead of Judith Kleiner and Rod Larter.

It was a good week for the Dixon family with Marion and Peter coming first at Clifton on Friday afternoon. Theresa Hillier and Ann Franklin were second, Anne Carrington with David Heron third.

n On Wednesday RBC Ltd played a friendly match against Coventry Bridge Club. Coventry won as usual, but not by as large a margin as usual! Rugby had a dismal first half, but made a good recovery in the second half. The final score was 183-137.

BRIDGE CLUB

On Monday 15 pairs played a 24 board Mitchell movement. Top of the North / South side were David Sanderson & Val Richards with 63.10%. Second placed were Pam Southern & Nicky Cook with 61.51%. Edward & Ishar White came third with 55.56%.

The East / West side were led by Brian Mawby & Peter Halliday with an emphatic 71.53%. Second were Jane Reed & Christine Greenaway with 55.90%. Sue & John Robards, with 52.43%, came third.
