Rugby Cricket Club have enjoyed a productive winter, and are looking forward to the start of the 2012 season in less than two months.

RCC will enjoy their annual dinner tomorrow (Friday, March 9) at the Rugby Workers Club with a traditional three-course meal and disco. Tickets are £30 per head and there are still a few tickets left for club members and friends.

On the playing front, the town are looking forward to their new opponents with the 1st XI promoted to Division 1 of the Warwickshire Cricket League.

And promotion to the Premier League is a definite aim of club captain Matt Ewer, with a number of top class players signed over the winter period.

The 3rd XI will be captained by Nick Graham, with Yuvi Chohan as vice-captain and will play their home games at Harris School.

Pre-season nets are ongoing at Lawrence Sheriff School, running from 12.30pm until 2pm for adults and 3pm-5pm for juniors, at £2 per session, and new players are always welcome.

There is a club day on Saturday, April 21, with inter-club matches and the 2012 league campaign begins on Saturday, April 28.
