Princethorpe College U18 netball team have done the ‘double’ for the fourth year in a row.
Following on from their county victory last term, the magnificent seven played in the Independent Schools Association’s National Tournament held at Rugby School and took podium position.
This is the fourth consecutive time that Princethorpe has won both of these important tournaments.
The round robin tournament saw Princethorpe playing six other schools. Convincing victories against all competition saw the U18s playing exceptionally well both in defence and attack, beating second placed Trinity School 13-2.
Netball coach and Head of Girls PE Louise Champion said: “They were a pleasure to watch. Our girls, with some players as young as 16, worked fantastically as a team with some superb passing and accurate shooting. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the season. This has confirmed Princethorpe’s top position on the County and ISA circuit.”
Princethorpe’s U16 team came third overall in the ISA National tournament. Brave playing saw them lose to Hull Collegiate College in the semi final 3-8. Up and coming U14 squad came second in their round robin tournament losing out in the final to Claire’s Court.
