Angela Copson BEM won her eighth British Masters Cross Country title when she took victory in the W65 race at Liverpool over a distance of 6k on Saturday. With a time of 27:49, she won by over four minutes from Cambridge & Coleridge’s Diana Braverman who recorded 32:05 with Ann Bath (26.2 road runners club) in 3rd on 37:15.

It was the Rugby & Northampton athlete’s third consecutive title in this age group and it maintains her unbeaten cross country record in all Masters Championships with 27 straight victories.

Copson, who was honoured in the new year with a Britsh Empire medal for services to running, has now brought her overall gold medal tally to 83.

R&N’s Ian Wright claimed 15th spot in the M60 8k race with 38:19.
