On Friday evening Rugby RCC members were invited to take part in a nine-man team time trial held on the Silverstone racing circuit.

This was a unique event with 35 teams taking part, with all proceeds and entry fees going to the Help for Heroes charity.

The Rugby RCC team recorded a time of 25 min 57 for the 3-lap event, the team comprising Adrian Tayles, Eliot Blundell, Dave Kiernan, Russell Green, Simon Mitchell, Matt Plant, Matt Jones, Peter Belfield and Phil Scott.

The winning team was Corley cycles who finished in 22-45. The Rugby RCC team thoroughly enjoyed the experience, admitting they need more practice for the event and aim to compete again next year.

On Saturday a team comprising Tim Hastie, Dave Kiernan and Matt Jones won the team prize in the Coventry Road Club’s 25 mile time trial.

On Sunday Marina Bloom rode in the Bedfordshire Road Club 25 where she finished in 1 hr 02 mins 58 secs, winning the prize for first lady.
