Fifth title for Phil Clarke
Despite a heavy rain shower on Tuesday afternoon Phil Clarke’s mood wasn’t dampened as he made himself a five-time winner of the Rugby Velo Ten Mile Championship.
Held on the K11/10T course Clarke logged a 21-52 seven seconds quicker than rival Martin Jones, meaning no other rider could catch him on points.
With Jones set to take second place in the Championship, third is looking likely to go to cyclocross specialist Jeremy Hicks who recorded a 22-23 on the night to take third overall.
