Tracey in team to lead out competitors in stage 2 of Women’s Cycling Tour of Great Britain
Rugby Triathlon Club coach Tracey Price, through her role as a Breeze Ride Leader for British Cycling, has been chosen as part of a team of eight women to lead out the competitors of the Women’s Cycling Tour of Great Britain at the start of Stage 2 of the race on Thursday, May 8.
“I am so excited at this opportunity, we’ll be leading out 16 teams of the world’s best female cyclists,” said Tracey. “We’ll get to ride with top riders, I can’t wait.”
The inaugural Friends Life Women’s Tour starts on Wednesday, May 7 (from Oundle to Northampton), with the Stage 2 route, Hinckley to Bedford, starting on May 8. The tour finishes in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday, May 11 – five days and 493.6kms later.
British Cycling’s Breeze is the biggest ever programme to get more women riding their bikes for fun. Led by women for women, Breeze bike rides are local, friendly informal and designed to suit all ages and abilities. Rugby has 10 Breeze Ride Leaders who are contactable via www.breezebikerides.com. Tracey will be leading the next Breeze ride group on Saturday, May 3 from the car park at Draycote Water, near Dunchurch. The ride will start at 10.30am and consist of a steady ride around Draycote Water.
Rugby Triathlon Club currently organises and promotes one triathlon race a year. Taking place in Daventry at the end of August, the race is suitable for novices and experienced competitors alike.
