See eight top darts players in Bilton

Darts fans will be able to watch eight top professionals competing in Rugby tonight (Wednesday, June 3). They will be playing in the new Midland Invitational Elite League at The Bear in Bilton.

Organised by BW9 Sports management, run by Rugby’s Wayne and Becky Niner, the league will be played on alternate Wednesday evenings. It will culminate in a ‘Premier League’ type play-off finals night on July 15 to decide the overall winner.

A series of Elite Challenge matches for some of the best local players will be played during the professionals’ rest weeks.

And with that series reaching a climax on July 22, darts enthusiasts have a full eight weeks of top class competition to look forward to.

There is no charge to watch and it’s a great opportunity for any darts fans to enjoy top quality action.

There are three players from Rugby playing in the invitational league, the biggest name being world famous player Kevin Painter. There is also India’s number one player, BW9 Sports managed Prakash Jiwa and PDC Challenge Tour star Luke Kennedy. Also from the BW9 Sports stable is Daventry’s Matthew Edgar. Nigel Heydon, a semi-finalist in last weekend’s tour event will also be taking part. Former World Youth Championship runner-up Ricky Evans and Challenge tour players James Richardson and Mark Jones complete the fantastic line up.
