Young people are invited to a Sports Club Road Show on Thursday, February 17.
East Warwickshire School Sport Partnership will be running the event at Avon Valley Performing Arts College.
As the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games moves ever closer, the Partnership and Avon Valley are using the power of the games to motivate and enthuse children to volunteer and take part in more sport and physical activity within their communities.
The Sports Club Road Show gives the opportunity for local sports clubs to promote participation and volunteering opportunities for young people at their club. Around 20 clubs, covering a range of different sporting activities, are expected to attend and will be showcasing their club through displays and taster sessions to motivate children to become involved in sports clubs even after the school day has finished.
Andrew Beales, School Sport Co-ordinator for Avon Valley Performing Arts College, said: “This is a fantastic chance for children and adults to learn more about the opportunities available to either participate or volunteer within sports clubs in the local community.”
n The event will be open to Avon Valley students and local primary school children from 1-3.30pm and is then open to the local community from 3.30-6pm.
