After the unseasonal heat wave, snow meant the cancellation of the first tennis coaching session organised by the Dunchurch Tennis Club!

But the programme was soon very successfully launched by coach Matthew Corp, on the courts at Bilton Grange School.

The youngest player was only three years of age and the oldest player remembered Australian Margaret Court playing at Wimbledon!

Some 20 youngsters pronounced the coaching a great success whilst the older players congratulated themselves on recapturing their near-lost skills, making new friends and discovering muscles aching where they didn’t realise they had them.

The whole coaching programme will be extended and repeated in the summer, as the club then embarks on its money-raising efforts to build two all-weather, floodlit courts on the sportsfield in the village.

Anyone interested in receiving details of the summer programme should contact organiser, Mike Judge on mabjudge@hotmail.com or call (01788) 810253.
