SPORTS twinning is alive and thriving when it comes to taekwondo and riding.
At the weekend members of Rugby Freestyle Martial Arts Association and Rugby Riding Club travelled to Russelsheim for the annual exchange of friendly competition, sightseeing and fun.
Twinning for 27 years, Vendon Wright took 17 of his taekwondo students over this time.
They all had a great weekend and although they might not have won the trophy, they enjoyed every moment with their German counterparts.
Russelsheim won both the fighting and ten-pin bowling, but when it came to the demonstration, Rugby were well on top.
Vendon amazed the many groups watching with his techniques, including finger press-ups with a 12 stone person on his back!
The riding club had more success in their event, winning their competition, but as always the twinning weekend was far more about the camaraderie and great hospitality than the sporting result.
