The best front nine was Adrian Evans with 23 points, and best back nine was Bob Reynolds with 22 points. Nearest the pin on the 7th was Alex Beesley and the longest drive on the 17th was Andy Walsh.
In addition the ladies’ section were invited to take part in a stableford competition. This was won by Deb Harrad with 39 points, closely followed by Judith Pegler (38 points) and Sue Jones on 37 points. Sue also hit the longest drive on the 15th and Anne Hawkins was nearest the pin on the 5th.
Duncan also took the opportunity to raise money for his Captain’s Charity, Cancer Research UK. The main feature was a duck race, boldly entitled ‘The Great British Duck Off’, held in Clifton Brook on the course itself. A total of £1,155 was raised for Cancer Research UK on a fantastic day for the club with fine competitive golf and a great atmosphere.
