Recent rumours have suggested that there are problems with Coventry Stadium for 2017. Speedway promoter Mick Horton has, however, said that negotiations are going on between the Speedway, who shortly will hold the stadium lease and the Stock Car promoters with a view to both sports continuing at the stadium.

Horton has gone ahead with team building and quickly finalised his side for next season.

With Danny King and Kenneth Berra already signed they were then joined by Lassa Berra, brother of Kenneth and much sought after Josh Bates.

Two more of last season’s Bees, namely Jason Garrity and James Sarjeant were then added to the squad which was completed by the signing of Lewis Kerr, who impressed last year at Brandon when with Lakeside, who have now resigned from the top tier of the sport.

Horton returned from holiday and after hearing news of damage and artefacts removed from Brandon Stadium, he issued the following statement:

“I want to assure the fans that I am still 100 per cent committed to the Bees racing at Brandon for 2017.

“However I would need to see the damage first hand before decisions can be made.

“I wish to thank all Speedway and Stock Car fans for their continued support and I can confirm Speedway still holds the lease for next year.”
