LMR Rugby junior netball club, open to girls age 10-14, trains weekly at Harris sports centre on a Monday night.

The club has two teams competing in the Coventry and Warwickshire junior league.

n The under 14s team have had two successful matches in the last two weeks.

The first was against Henley, and was always going to be tough.

The first half was neck and neck, with Henley one goal ahead at half time. Some superb attacking play from Lauren Hall, Lucy Bostock and Annie Sheen saw LMR Rugby pull ahead in the second half.

Some great shooting from Lizzie Tarrant and Ella Ball meant a final score of 20-11 for LMR. Players of the match were Lauren Hall and Annie Sheen.

n The second match was against Hinckley. LMR weren’t playing their usual best initially, and the score was close at half time. The second half saw LMR play to their usual standard, and great shooting from Lauren Hall and Cerys Jones in the last quarter meant a final win of 18-5.

Fantastic defence by Bernie Pienaar, Georgia Stanley and Reanne Popham stopped Hinckley from doing any real damage. Some great attacking play with Annie Sheen being voted player of the match again despite a really nasty fall during the last quarter.

n The under 13 team had a great win against Harbury B. This team have really gelled and played fantastic netball with great attacking set plays. Some super balls into the circle from Millie Christie meant it was all the easier for Georgie Whitehead and Ailsa Maclean to score the goals.

As ever, defence was tight with Hannah Teasdale ensuring Harbury were unable to get the ball into the circle. Some dynamic attacking play from Reanne Popham also helped with this convincing win, with good defensive support from Lily Woodcock and Evie Bundyford.

Player of the match was Georgie Whitehead.

The match against Leamington B was not so successful, with Leamington being the team to beat in this division. Although the final score was 26-11, this did not reflect how well LMR Rugby played - player of the match going to Hannah Teasdale.

n The club would like to enter an under 12 team in the league from January, but need more Year 7 girls who are already playing at school.
