Promising boxer Connor Hannifin won his first fight of the season on a unanimous decision at Ludlow Racecourse in Herefordshire at the weekend.
The 12-year-old Avon Valley School pupil was facing Keelan McColgan of Smallheath ABC, Birmingham in a 46kg schoolboy bout.
In a tough fight, Connor showed very good hand speed and some excellent shots to the body and head to put Keelan on the back foot for the three rounds.
In the end Connor’s ring craft proved too strong for his opponent.
Having started the new season where he left off, Connor, nicknamed ‘The Hitman’ will be fighting again this weekend at Far Cotton ABC.
He is looking forward to making his debut in the schoolboy ABA championships in January.
Having started boxing with coach Craig Hartwell at The George, Bilton ABC, the Clifton youngster is now a member at Kingsheath ABC in Northampton.
