Junior report: The Tuesday Medal Competition was a close affair with Jack Malone coming out on top with a nett 68. Josh Broadhurst, with the same score, lost out on the count back system. In third place was young Ollie Branston with nett 70 while three players, Jack Moran, Spencer Brown and Cameron Snook were one shot further adrift.  The Goddard Stableford Trophy was a runaway success for Tom Cleaton who accumulated 40 points. Three shots further back was Kirtus Grimmett with 37 points followed by Josh Broadhurst who scored 35 points.

n The Senior Captain’s Away Day was played at Kibworth Golf Club last Thursday. Captain Keith Mills made it a very enjoyable day for us all. The day was completed with a good meal followed by the presentation of prizes. The main prize, the IBBO Claret Jug, was won by Danny Ramshaw with 38 stableford points.

n President (Barry Pegler) v Captain (Bob James) match was played on Saturday, in a heatwave. The match was played as a fourball betterball resulting in an honourable draw.

n The Ladies EWGA competition on the same day saw our Lady Captain, Hazel Oag, winning with a excellent net 66. Claire Scott was second with a net 74.

n The August medal was played on Sunday on a glorious summer’s day. The golf course was in very good condition which reflected the good scores.

The day’s winner was Alan Batchelor with a net 62, second place Michael Walshe net 65 and third Joshua Broadhurst with a net 66.
