Princethorpe College England U18 hockey player James Simpson is basking in his recent experience of having played at the 2012 Olympic Park.
The formidable forward, who also plays for Olton Hockey Club first XI, brought back a gold medal from the recent Sainsburys UK School Games where he scored a total of three goals against Wales in the final.
Simpson, 17, also proved his value by snatching a further two goals in the Four Nations tournament held in Harleem at the end of April. Competing against Holland, Germany and Spain the sixth former secured a second gold medal bringing his total England caps to 17.
Princethorpe Foundation Director of Sport Neil McCollin continued to praise James’ talents: “We are always excited to hear about the success that James experiences on the pitch at National level.
“He manages to fit in a rigorous training schedule at Loughborough University with his A Level studies.
“Without a doubt he is a role model for our younger hockey players at the College.”
