Wune Tang Academy had success at their ‘Open Martial Arts’ Tournament on Saturday which was held at Ryton Connexion Leisure Centre.

Two hundred competitors arrived to face disciplines in creative music sections, team forms, sparring, weaponry and traditional forms.

The team competed against different Martial Arts Clubs from all over the United Kingdom and Amy Woon, Tony Cook and Daisy Woon all from Wune Tang Academy achieved the Grand Championship titles on offer. Overall the club took home a total of 57 placements.

Master Zak Woon said: “I am immensely proud of everyone at the Academy. Their hard work and dedication really paid off. It was a fantastic day and great to see all styles of martial arts working together.”

The next competition date for the Open Championships is September 29 and all styles of Martial Arts are welcome to attend.
