Former Rugby Triathlon Club captain Keith Edwards has decided to set himself the massive challenge of completing seven races – one after the other – during the London Triathlon weekend of August 2-3.
Edwards will need to swim five miles, cycle 155 miles and run 33 miles over the two days all in race conditions.
He will start the first of four sprint races at 7am on Saturday, August 2 and complete a further three Olympic distance races on the Sunday.
“I was watching the London Triathlon last year and started to think about a challenge I could do to raise money for two wonderful charities which are very close to my heart,” Edwards explained.
“I aim to raise £10,000 to be split between Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.
“With just over two weeks left until race day, I’m starting to get worried.
“But I know that with the help and support of my family and friends I will achieve this challenge.”
Anyone who would like to support Edwards and his chosen charities can do so by going to his fundraising page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/KeithEdwards3.
Rugby Triathlon Club currently organises and promotes one triathlon race a year which will take place on August 31 and is suitable for novices and experienced competitors alike. Go to www.rugbytriathlon.org.uk for more information.
