Cossar and Whetstone reach another final in Australia
Rugby’s Mark Cossar continued his fine form in the Sidecar Grand Slam Series, finishing fourth in the final at Renmark in South Australia.
Racing in temperatures well above 40 degrees, Cossar and his Binley Woods passenger Daz Whetstone initially made it through to the ‘B’ Final after recording 12 points (out of a possible 15) in the qualifying heats, including three fine wins. The British pair then won the ‘B’ final to go through to the final four, but couldn’t quite secure a place on the podium.
The typically professional Cossar was slightly disappointed with his display, even though he holds a notable third place in the series, which given that this is his debut season Down Under, was thought well beyond him by the vastly more experienced Australians.
The fifth round of the Sidecar Grand Slam will be staged at Gillman in Adelaide on Saturday, February 22.
