Leading the way as one of the favourites for the 1,000cc Empire Classic will be four-time British Masters Champion Mark Cossar, whilst fast-improving younger brother Tom will be keen to steal some of the spotlight. In the always entertaining 500cc class, Jeni Cossar (Mark and Tom’s sister) will, unlike her brothers, be out of the saddle as a daredevil passenger – and the man to blame for his offspring’s dangerous choice of sport, Dad, Andy Cossar is riding in the 1000cc class, with passenger Gareth Williams, also from Rugby.

“I’m know I’m going to get plenty of stick from my sons, especially as I’m nowhere near as fast as they are,” said Andy. “And I’m sure my daughter Jeni will be nagging me to keep the throttle open because it was from my racing that they all became interested in sidecars. I’m looking forward to it but I’ve got to admit I’m a bit nervous!”

Mark Cossar, who won both of 2015’s sidecar events at Brandon is likely to face tough opposition from Gareth Winterburn and former British Masters Champion, Rob Wilson.

In the 500cc class, Jeni Cossar (as passenger to Scott Dunne) recently won the East Anglian Spring Trophy grasstrack in Essex, so is expected to be in contention against a top class field at Brandon.

First race is at 7pm. £10 for adults. Free for under 16s.
