Racing at Lawford Heath next month

Heart of England Motorcycle Club bring the spectacular sport of Grasstrack racing back to Rugby after many years when they stage a meeting in Lawford Heath on Sunday, June 17.

Double British 1000cc sidecar champion, Rugby’s Mark Cossar headlines the event and will be desperate to win at a track just minutes from his home.

The event is being run in support of Myton Hospice and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

The event includes classes for 250, 350 an 500cc solo’s. Classic solos, junior solo’s and 1000cc sidecars.

Practice is at 11am and racing starts at 1pm. Entrance is £10 for adults and free for accompanied children.

Grasstrack racing is fast and furious with speeds of up to 80mph on lightweight machines with no brakes. The racing follows a similar format to speedway with races taking place over four laps around an oval around 500M in length.
