Local junior LMR netball club has been awarded almost £3,000 to expand the club for older girls.
The club has been running for several years, with teams in the Coventry junior netball league and also the local Rugby Area Netball Association ladies league playing competitive netball.
Successes over the past few years include teams winning in the under 12, under 13 and under 14 tournaments, and girls in year 11 coming 3rd last year in the ladies division two league.
The club is now running a satellite session on a Wednesday evening at Ashlawn school, for girls in year 11 up to the age of 22. A grant was awarded from CSW Sport in Coventry to run this satellite session to try and attract girls who have left school and given up netball, or girls at college or university. The sport is rapidly expanding but often loses girls once they have left school or college.
Anyone interested in joining the club should contact Shirley Hall - please email email@example.com or join us on Facebook.
