For them netball involves training six days a week and practice. Practice, practice, practice.

Molly and Georgie are looking forward to a packed netball season which promises the opportunity of playing against the best in the country. A tough three-day selection process at Wolverhampton University confirmed that Molly, who plays Goal Shooter, and Georgie – Goal Defence, are in as good a place as it gets for future England selection.

NPL training will take place alongside their regional club (Henley Netball Team) and Princethorpe College fixtures making life incredibly busy for both of them.

Lower Sixth former Georgie explained: “It’s what I want to do so the sacrifices are worth it. Sometimes I’m having to do homework in the car as I’m travelling to training but that’s just what has to be done.”

Year 11’s Molly agrees: “I love the game. I’m often forced to make difficult decision to make sure that I get both school work and training done; but that’s part of where we’re at.”

Both are advocates of the game confirming that there is nothing lightweight about the sport.

“It’s so fast out there. Even since I’ve been playing the rules and the feel of the game have altered. It’s going to be fascinating to watch how the sport continues to grow,” added Molly.

In safe hands with Wasps NPL, the sport looks set to enjoy its recent trajectory with more girls and women playing than ever before. Molly and Georgie are committed and focused on not simply scoring goals on the court but achieving personal goals in the highly charged world of national sport.
