News from their latest events
Over 60 people including many families enjoyed the three courses planned and organised by David Lawson and his family. The club welcomed several new orienteers to the Draycote Water including some from the Rugby area.
Pippa Smart W10 was the fastest junior back taking 13.29mins on the Short 1.4k course, Lucy Powell W14 was 2nd in 13.42 and Oliver Lunn M12 3rd in 15.01mins. Rob Smart M45 won the medium 2.9k course in 30.57mins, John Bowman M70 was 2nd in 33.13mins and Richard Markham M35 3rd in 34.04mins.
On the Long course Nathan Lawson M16 was 1st in 28.02mins, Riina Kuuselo W21 2nd in 29.50mins and Harriet Lawson W18 3rd in 33.44mins.
There is another opportunity for beginners to try out this popular sport at Draycote Water on Saturday 14 September and the next club event will be in the woods at Everdon Stubbs on Saturday 21 September 10 – 12noon.

Runners and walkers of all ages, 5 – 85 years and abilities will be welcome to come along to come along to try out this outdoor adventure navigation sport. Several courses of between 2k and 6k have been planned and help is available to all newcomers. A large scale map and electronic timers are provided; bring a compass if you have one.
