Excellent run but he just misses out on place in final

Sam, 22, clocked his fastest ever time in the T35 200m of 28.75, having only taken up sprinting at the start of this year after being spotted during American football training.

The second 200m heat was faster than Sam’s, with the winner breaking the world record, and those runners gained the fastest qualifier places.
