POLO: Prestigious league finale battled out at Onley Grounds

Finals keep watchers on edge of their seats

Rugby Polo Club hosted its first ever Victor Ludorum Arena Polo Tournament of the winter season. The Victor Ludorum is a prestigious league played all over the country where teams have to gain points over the season to win the trophy. The finale of the Victor Ludorum and last chance for these teams was battled out at Rugby at the end of last month.

There were teams visiting from Oxfordshire with Thomson Local and Berkshire’s TEX8n Polo against two local teams, Twisted and Bushpigs. Some excellent players fought in two tight games in the Sunday final and sub final. It was fast paced, furious and strongly competitive, open and perfect for spectating. TEX8N polo won the final 13–11 against Thomson Local, the tightest game of the whole tournament, both teams unsure of who was going to win from the start to the end! The sub final was won by Twisted 10–6 against the Bushpigs, with spectators enjoying two tight finals that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
