Winners at Oxford City rowing regatta

A small contingent from Hollowell scullers ventured to compete on the 500m sprint course used by Oxford University who recent won the London Boat Race.

Three of the five Hollowell competitors won finals in their individual events and brought home three winners tankards. This was a particularly pleasing result given the age range of the winners; from junior 13 years to Masters 50+ years.

Winners shown in the photo from the left are: Rugby High School student Rebecca Sandercock (Women’s Junior 15), Tim Fenemore (Masters 50-60) from Bilton and Elliot Coxon (Men’s junior 13).

Hollowell scullers are a local club who have concentrated on giving both young and more mature people of various abilities from complete novice to ‘old hand’ the opportunity to row recreationally or even to compete if they feel inspired to. They train on Saturday mornings and are keen to attract new members to boost their squad.
