Sporting talents of all ages and abilities from SPA Rugby branch took part in the Shree Prajapati Association (SPA) annual Sports Days held at Warwick University, on Saturday, September 15.
Some 500 enthusiastic competitors from across the 13 UK branches took part in ten different sporting categories.
Taking inspiration from the Olympics legacy the town did exceptionally well once more in taking top honours’ in volleyball, junior football , senior and junior pool and were also runners-up in the junior pool and darts doubles
Ramesh Mistry, from SPA Rugby said: “This is a tremendous achievement for a small town like Rugby,” said.
“All of our players made Rugby truly proud and it’s really encouraging to see such sporting prowess in some of our younger members, it was truly outstanding,” he concluded
n SPA Rugby is the local branch of a national charity organisation. Founded in 1975, there are 13 branches across the UK. The mission is to advance Gujarati culture and raise money for national and international charitable causes.
