RS Feva Nationals and Inland Championships

Rebecca Lewis from Ashlawn School and Immi Slinn from Rugby High have had some good results in the recent RS Feva National and Inland Championships.

The RS Feva Nationals were held at Thorpe Bay Sailing Club from May 25-28. Rebecca and Immi got into the Gold Fleet and after gear failure and tricky conditions managed to come 15th overall out of 92 boats.

Daniel Lewis from Lawrence Sheriff School and Elliott Marshall from Bilton Grange School also got into the Gold Fleet in this their first Nationals together and came 36th and were also 2nd Juniors (which is both crew & helm 13yrs or under)

This weekend the Inland Championships were held at Chew Valley Sailing Club. It was a very windy weekend, but the girls flew, putting in five top 10 results, achieving one of their goals at the Inland championships this weekend by becoming 1st girls/4th overall out of 50 boats, making Immi’s birthday on the Saturday one to really celebrate.

They all train at Draycote Water Sailing Club who have a new youth and junior club, so if anyone wants to have a go at sailing please contact them for details.

All four of them will be making their way to Italy in a few weeks to compete in the RS Feva Worlds 2013
