Kate, who was a finalist in the SB9 100m breaststroke at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, will be visiting the CSW Sport Winter School Games at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre in Rugby on Wednesday, March 25.

The Sainsbury’s School Games is an exciting, fully inclusive competition for schoolchildren in England. They are designed to motivate, enthuse and inspire young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.

Kate will be attending the event in her capacity as a Sport England Sporting Champion and is excited about interacting with the young people who attend the event.

“Having represented Great Britain at major events like the Paralympics and World Championships, I feel it is really important for me to give something back to sport because it has given me so much. That is why I love being a Sport England Sporting Champion and working with young people,” she said.

“I am looking forward to doing just that at the upcoming CSW Sport Winter School Games. I am excited to meet all the young participants and volunteers in attendance and my aim is to raise their aspirations of what they can achieve. I know that it will be a fantastic event so I cannot wait for the action to get underway.”

The Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire County Festivals are organised by the PE and School Sport Steering Group, which is made-up of representatives from school and community sport, national governing bodies of sport and local authorities, and supported by CSW Sport.

Audrajean Elliott- Davies, partnership development officer at CSW Sport, said: “It will be great for the young athletes to hear from a professional sporting star such as Kate who has achieved so much during her sporting career.

“The Sainsbury’s School Games offer the perfect opportunity for schoolchildren to immerse themselves in sport and Kate’s personal experiences and achievements will no doubt help to encourage others to fulfil their sporting potential and get excited about sport.”
