Don’t let someone you know miss out on a nomination

Do you know someone who has improved their health and wellbeing through physical activity this year?

A new Get Active Award, sponsored by Public Health Warwickshire, has been added to Rugby’s Sports Awards for 2014 - which are organised by Rugby Borough Council and supported by the Rugby Advertiser and Rugby FM.

People should be nominated who have improved their health and wellbeing significantly through taking part in physical activity or who have had health problems in the past which they have improved or managed through physical activity.

The deadline for all the awards, which recognise success and dedication in 2014, is Friday, January 9.

The other categories are: The Mark Gallagher Memorial Award for Coach of the Year; Rugby’s Club of the Year; Unsung Hero Volunteer; Lifetime Achievement Award; The Lion Geoff Thompson Young Volunteer of the Year; the Simon Warwood Memorial Award for Young Team of the Year; Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year and for under 18s, the Excellence in Sport awards for those who excel at national level include £100 towards equipment and training.
