Rugby Squash team have been promoted to the top county league for the first time in their history.
The team had an absolutely fantastic season and managed to gain promotion despite playing the first three games of the second half of the season without their number 1, due to injury.
For the first time in the town’s history, the Rugby team have gained promotion to the top county league and will have the chance to play against teams that pay professional players, which will be a fantastic experience for the team. Rugby beat off tough competition for promotion from Leicester and Loughborough Students.
As well as those pictured, they are grateful to other squad members who contributed valuable points throughout the season: Tony Foster, Rod Hallam, Barbar Shazadah, Brad Kienes and Phil Bradley.
They would also like to thank Rugby School Sports Centre for keeping the courts in brilliant playing condition and also Barry at the A1 Club for the fantastic curry buffet that is provided for the teams after home matches.
