Three out of the four trophies on offer at the Southam Triathlon were won by Rugby Triathlon Club members on Sunday.
Beverley Masterman, topped off a fantastic summer by winning the Senior Female category in 1:27:00. Earlier in the summer Bev won her age group (30-34) at the Kimbolton Triathlon in Cambridgeshire in 1:15:27.
Anne Portsmouth won the Veteran Female category in a great time of 1:15:04 and Club Captain Keith Edwards produced a solid performance to win the Veteran Men’s category in a time of 1:06:13.
Twelve club members took part in this Club Championship sprint race (400m swim, 20km bike and 5km run).
The results were:
Male Vet: Keith Edwards (1st) 1:06:13; Matthew Uzzell (4th) 1:09:04; John Austin (12th) 1:16:10; Ian Doncaster (22nd) 1:22:42.
Male Senior: Richard Cousins (10th) 1:12:41; Bruce McCrea (18th) 1:16:35; Craig Pattison (24th) 1:20:15.
Female Vet: Anne Portsmouth (1st) 1:15:04; Josie Goodwin (7th) 1:25:35; Lisa Sterling (14th) 1:38:09; Alison Postlethwaite (19th) 2:16:06.
Female Senior: Beverley Masterman (1st) 1:27:00.
Club member Rod McGowan took part in the challenging Vitruvian Half Ironman race, Rutland Water, Leicestershire. He finished 24th in his age group (40-44) having completed the 1900m swim, 85km bike and 21km run in 4:43:02.
