The Gaels lost to Derby last Sunday in the Midlands Gaelic Football League.
Despite being six players short the Gaels managed to get a team out and they put up a good show. Many were asked to play in various positions for the good of the team.
With Ned Byrne going off injured Shane Coughlan had to be brought back from the forwards to full-back and goal-keeper Tony Treacy ended up playing in three different positions.
Young Jordan Gold came on as keeper and had another very good game.
Kevin Wynne, Micheal O’Meara and Kieran Biggins held the half-back line very well and the midfield pairing of Pat O’Brien and Gerry Sweeney, who scored several great points, will give any team a problem with their catching and running at defences with the ball. It looks good for us this season.
Training is now on Thursdays at Boughton Road at 7.15pm.
