YOUNG tennis players are invited to join in the Rugby Advertiser’s 17th tennis challenge this Sunday.

It was started in 1996 as part of the Advertiser’s 150th anniversary celebrations and this year all proceeds will again go to Parkinson’s UK.

Coach Pam Bond is again organising the tournament on Sunday, July 8th for youngsters aged seven to 18.

It will be held at Rugby School’s courts in Horton Crescent.

This time we’re looking for around 50 children, of all abilities, to take part.

It will be run on a round-robin basis, with five mixed divisions, decided both on age and ability to make it fairer. There will be a small trophy to keep for the winner and runner-up in each section, as well as a perpetual cup which each winner will keep for a year.

Entry is £9, which includes raffle tickets. Play will start at 9.30am and players are asked to register at 9am. It should be an enjoyable day for everyone — win or lose.

Entrants must live in the Rugby Advertiser circulation area and be 18 or under on August 31 this year.

Call Pam on (01788) 810589 as soon as possible.
