A member of Rugby Triathlon Club took part in a Quadrathlon earlier this month, adding a fourth discipline to the usual triathlon event.
Andy Childs completed a swim, kayak, bike and run course in Brigg, North Lincolnshire.
This was Andy’s first Quadrathlon and was also the British Quadrathlon Championships. Andy finished the course an impressive 10th place overall and was fourth in his age group.
The course included a 1.5km swim in the River Ancholme, then an 8k kayak along the river, followed by a 36k cycle and 10k run around the town of Brigg. Andy completed the course in 3-09.34.
Two club members competed in a sprint distance triathlon at Foremark Hall, a Georgian Manor House south of Derby.
Claire James came 5th in her age group in 1-23.50 and fellow club member Adrian James clocked 1-14.13.
The event included a 400m pool swim, a 20k cycle around the local countryside followed by a 5k run within the grounds.
