Exciting day with good performances

Rugby Junior Triathlon Club was out in force at Duston Junior Triathlon, Northampton last weekend. The 15 local members were among nearly 400 other competitors taking part.

It was an exciting day that saw many achievements within the club.

The Triathlon comprises a pool based swim followed by a cycle ride and finished off by a run, each vary in distance depending on age.

Results:

Tri Star 1 (9-10 Years, 92m swim/1,600m cycle/800m run): 36th Matthew McQuillan, 49th Luke Broomhead, 71st Josef Leugs, and Grace Darcy

Tri Star 2 (11-12 Years, 138m swim/2,400m cycle/1,200m run): 38th Toby Channing, 49th Charlie Bracken, 52nd Erin Darcy, 72nd Benjamin Leugs, 76th Megan Galacher, 93rd Oliver Smith

Tri Star 3 (13-14 Years, 200m swim/3,200m cycle/1,600m run): 34th Michael Channing, 42nd Oscar Fuentes

Youth (15-16 Years, 250m swim/4,000m cycle/2,000m run): 14th Adam Smith, 17th Danielle Whitington, 18th Hannah Reynolds

On the following day, two of the older juniors, who have recently joined the adult club, competed in the sprint triathlon.

Hannah Cooper 265th under 20 1:24:50; Emily Cooper 290th under 20 1:28:18
