Two medals at Warwickshire Children’s Aquathon

Ten Rugby Tri Club juniors took part in the Warwickshire Children’s Aquathlon at Shipston on Stour last week and two came away with medals.

Skip Snelson won his Tristar 1 category with more than 30 seconds to spare over the second placed competitor and Ella-Mae Fereday came second in her Tristart age group.

Tri Start (swim 50m, bike 600m): Ella-Mae Fereday 2nd 4.22; Charlie Glover 4th 4.18.

Tri Star 1 (Swim 150m, bike 1200m): Skip Snelson 1 8.03; James Austin 8th 9.19; Benjamin Leugs 10th 9.52.

Tri Star 2 (Swim 200m, bike 1800m) Holly Glover 14th 13.22.

Tri Star 3 (Swim 300m, bike 2400m): Aidan McGuirk 6th 13.33; Georgia Austin 10th 14.57; Katie Clements 12th 15.55; Francesca Austin 15th 17.08.

Additionally, Tristan Beardshaw and Cara McQuillan were presented with a £20 Webb Ellis voucher each at last Sunday’s training session. The two received the vouchers for working hard and showing commitment.

Triathlon is three sports undertaken as one - swimming, cycling and running - if you are interested in taking part more information concerning the club’s adult and junior sections can be found at www.rugbytriathlon.org.uk.

You can join in with the Junior Club at their Sunday training sessions at Rugby School and participate in any or all of the disciplines.
